The short version
- Bloom gives you an informed opinion about your plant. It is a strong second opinion, not a guarantee.
- Scanning is capped at 10 a day and 60 a month, which normal use does not reach.
- $39.99 a year or $6.99 a week, billed by Apple, renewing until you cancel.
- Cancel any time in App Store settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal.
- In the EU you have 14 days to withdraw from the purchase.
- Your photos stay yours. We claim no ownership of them.
What Bloom is
Bloom is an iPhone app that looks at a photo of a plant and tells you what it is,
whether it appears healthy, what problems it can detect, and what to do about them. It
also stores a garden on your device and schedules watering reminders. It is operated
by Vynse, based in France.
By downloading or using Bloom you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them,
don't use the app.
What a diagnosis is not
Bloom's readings are informative and are not guaranteed to be correct.
Species identification and disease detection are produced by an automated system
working from one photograph. They can be wrong, particularly when the image is dark,
blurred, distant, or shows a symptom that several different problems can cause.
Bloom reports a confidence score for exactly this reason, and tells you when it is not
sure rather than guessing. Treat every reading as a starting point for a decision you
make yourself.
Bloom is not a substitute for professional horticultural advice. For a valuable,
rare or irreplaceable plant, or before applying any chemical treatment, consult a
qualified professional. Bloom is not advice about human or animal health: never eat,
apply or medicate with a plant on the strength of an identification in this app.
Following a care plan is your choice, and the outcome for your plant is your
responsibility.
Subscription and billing
Bloom requires a paid subscription from the first scan. There is no free trial and no
free diagnosis. Two plans are offered:
- Annual: $39.99 per year.
- Weekly: $6.99 per week.
Prices are in US dollars and may be shown in your local currency, converted and taxed
according to App Store rules for your region. Apple processes the payment through your
App Store account.
Subscriptions renew automatically. Your account is charged for the next period within
24 hours of the end of the current one, unless you cancel before then. If we change a
price, Apple will ask you to confirm before the new price takes effect.
Fair use
Each diagnosis costs us money to run, so scanning is capped at
10 scans per day and
60 per month. These limits exist to bound
abuse, not to meter honest use: a collection of twenty plants scanned monthly
comes nowhere near them.
If you reach a cap, Bloom tells you and scanning resumes at the start of the next
day or month. A scan that fails does not count against your allowance. If you have
a genuine reason to need more, write to us and we will sort it out.
Cancelling
Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then
Subscriptions, then Bloom, then Cancel Subscription. You can also do
this from the App Store app.
Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep access until the end of the period you
have already paid for. On a new phone, use Restore purchases in the app's profile
screen to pick your subscription back up. We cannot cancel a subscription for you or issue a refund
ourselves, because we never take the payment. Refunds are handled by Apple, at their
discretion, through
reportaproblem.apple.com.
EU right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from a
purchase of digital content within 14 days of buying it, without
giving a reason.
Because the purchase was made through the App Store, Apple handles withdrawal and the
refund. Request it at
reportaproblem.apple.com,
or contact Apple Support. If you have trouble, email us and we will help you pursue it.
This right is in addition to anything else these terms say, and nothing here limits the
statutory consumer rights you have where you live.
Using the app fairly
Please don't:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile or tamper with the app, or work around the paywall.
- Script, automate or bulk-submit scans, or resell access to the diagnosis service.
- Upload images you have no right to use, or images of people rather than plants.
- Use Bloom in a way that breaks the law where you are.
We may stop providing the service to an installation that does any of the above.
Your photos
Your photos remain yours. We claim no ownership over them and no right to publish or
reuse them. You grant only the narrow permission needed to run the diagnosis you
asked for: sending that image to our diagnosis provider and returning the result to
your device. How photos are handled is set out in the
privacy policy.
The app itself, meaning its code, design, name and logo, belongs to us and is not
licensed to you beyond ordinary personal use of the app.
Services we rely on
Diagnoses are produced with Plant.id, operated by Kindwise s.r.o. Subscription status
is managed with RevenueCat, Inc. Payments are handled by Apple. If one of these
services is unavailable, part of Bloom may not work until it returns.
Availability and changes
Bloom is provided as it is, and we can't promise it will be available without
interruption or free of faults. Features may change as the app develops; we won't
remove something central to what you paid for without telling you.
If these terms change, this page changes and the date at the top is updated. Continuing
to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Bloom is not liable for indirect or consequential loss,
or for the death of a plant, arising from your use of the app or from acting on a
diagnosis. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for
your subscription in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be
excluded, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
Age
Bloom is not intended for anyone under 13. If you are under the age of majority where
you live, use it only with a parent or guardian's permission and on their App Store
account.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of France, without regard to conflict of law
principles. Disputes arising from them or from your use of Bloom fall under the
exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, France.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you keep every mandatory protection
given to you by the law of the country you live in, and nothing above takes that
away.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
